Wednesday, May 27. William Murphy, for drankennew, rraa fined 10s or 24 hoars. Iliomas Cull Eaton, for disorderlyconduct, was fined 10s or 24 hour*. John Bogers for drunkenness pleaded guilty and was discharged with a caution. Donald Charles Hamilton, for disorderly conduct, pleaded guilty and was fined 10s or 24 hours. Chaa. Parter, for drunkenness, was dis charged with a caation. John Woodley was charged with drunken ness and pleaded not guilty, Mr. Boorke ap pearing for defendant. The evidence o£ Senior-Constable A. Benzies, and Constables Mead and Conway for the prosecution, and that of J. Ik Woodley, D. Purser, W. Pen hallurick, and M. Leahy for the defence was taken after which the case was dismissed. John Byrnes and Thos. Millar were charged with being illegally on the premises of the Union Hotel on the evening of Tuesday, tha 26th instant. Th& statement of the com plainant was hoard, and the case remanded until the 1st of Jane for the production of further evidence. ...

Police Court. Saturday, May 23. Beforo J. "Vivian-Williams, Esq- P.M. Martin IS rodenck, pleaded gouty to dis orderly conduct on the previous day and was discharged with a caution. Tho same accused, remanded from the pre vious day on the charge of loitering with intent to commit a felony was, after the evidence of the arresting constable (Mead), and that of Constable tfanly, ana the evi dence of the accused and Mr. Q. C. Wilcocks for the defence, sentenced to one month's imprisonment with hard labor in Roma Gaol. Patrick Kelly sued John Bolby for mali cious injury, the hearing being adjourned until the 1st June. Tho police sued Charles Bice for assault, the evidence showing that accused struck another man with a bottle of beer on the verandah of the Union Hotel. Finde, 40a or one month in Roma Gaol.

Captain Ortne Darvall, field aide-de camp to the Commandant, met with an accident at the camp on Saturday through his horse rearing over aud falling upon him. Swanson Bro3., of Melbourne, has been accepted for the construction of a high-level bridge over the Burdekiu, and the necessary devia tions of the Northern line of railway, the total amount of the tender being £72,971.
