Williams' River [From our Correspondent.] July 14. THANKS to the opening of telegraph offices at Clarence Town and Dungog, the inhati-<*> tants of this district are now in direct com-<*> munication with the metropelis. So far we have advanced another step in the march of civilization. It now behoves us to endeavour to obtain such aa amount ot money as w—l enable us to have a passable road, for oar produce to reach market, witbontonr rnnning the risks (which are many) of a smash. The maize exogs faaye turned out. better than the farmers expected,, snd the con tinued fair price makes them quite cheerful. We had a slight fresh in the river on Saturday week, but it soon fell again. The weather continues showery and cold, with occasional lightning a little after sunset. On the whole we have no cause to be com planing. TlTnire, 2g. 3d. to Ss. 6d. per bushel.
