Tho tempera turo registered 108 in the shade on Sunday, and yesterday it was 112. A cool change took placo last night, and to day the maximum heat is 97. A woman named Mary Gear died on Saturday from burns rocoived whilo cooking. _A fire at Silvorton on Saturday night destroyed Crossing's promisos and furniture. Tho family wore away on a holiday at. the time. A two-roomod wooden house at North Broken Hill waB burned down on Saturday night. This was tho placo-where Walker lived prior to his conviction at Wileannia. Several leases on outside shows are being applied for. Thoro is a proba bility of a mining rovival in this district.

EXECUTION OF SHERIDAN. SYDNEY, Ttosdat. Tho Executive gave further consi deration to Sheridan's case last night, but decided not to interfere with the carrying out of tho death sontouco. Promptly at 9 o'clock this morning, Slioridan wns executed in Darlinghurst Onr.1 in tlin ,,rn.o„™ r.t f),„ officials and a fow visitors. The con demned man passed a restless night. Ho rose early, and ate a good break fast, being nttendod by Sisters of Charity and the Rev. Father Carey. He. was led out at 9 o'clock, being romarkably cool and composed.
