The pros pectus sets out that a concession has been obtained from the (Queensland Government of 10(1,000 acres of Crown land in one district and a further 100,000 acres close handy on condition that thecompanv clears a further speci fied area of Crown lands of the terrible prickly pear. Since its introduction in 1787 to New South Wales from Brazil the pest has spread until it is now esti mated that in Queensland alone 1 f>,80G, !09 acres are allected. The company has acquired from Mr. Oliver O. Roberts all the rights to a chemical process for which infallibility in the eradication of prickly pear is claimed.
