HEALESVILLE POLICE COURT. TUESDAY, DECEMBER 21, 1893. (Before Messrs. Green and Kilpatrick, J.'sP.) Senior-Constable Tevlin v. James Joyner : Cruelty to a horse on the 9th of December.-Fined £2 and 18s. 6d. costs; in default, 14 days' imprison ment. Proceedings to be stayed for 7 days. Senior-Constable '1'evlin also pro ceeded against the same person for cruelty to a bay mare.-On this charge he was fined 10s.; in default, 3 days' imprisonment. Proceedings to , be stayed for 7 days. JAs. MOORE'S TIMBER YARDS C.C. v . E.ALESVILLE. A. team frdn the above club jour neyed hither on Tuesday morning last, to try conclmions with' the Healeavil lites. The Weather on this occasion proved -most 'ireeable, and with the little warmthof the sun the damp wicket of the previous day gradually improved as flay proceeded. Mr. D. Hart captainel the visitors, while Mr. R. Allan hat command of the local players on thisoccasion also. The coin having been s un, Allan was favored in his guess, a~d decided to put his men on the lefensive. The score totted up was nt a large one. Christy, with good stealy play, carried- honors as top' scorer, with 16 to his credit, while J. Culler, in his usual neat style, came next witt 10, these being the only double figures anthe innings. When Moore's men gaped the handle of the ' bit of willow' our boys were treated to; some 'ecellt. practice in "leather hunting,," to te. tune of 159 runs., Quilty with" 51, and Hart 47, proved .themselves uncoubtedlv...

It will be seen on reference to the re port of the Shiie Council meeting held on Thursday, 21st inst., that TH?E GUARDIAN has been appointed the official medium for the publication of all Shire advertisements. The total rainfall for the month has been three inches and fifty-six points. The weather has been very variable, and on Wednesday, after a fine, clear forenoon, the clouds came rolling up, and about six o'clock the rain fell in torrents, registering one inch seventy three points within twelve hours. All yesterday it rained steadily up to the time of our going to press, The river has overflowed its banks, and all low lying lands are submerged. The business transacted at the Water Trust meeting on Thursday, 21st inst., was of an unimportant nature. A letter was read from F. G.
