This club every year puta forth aw attractive pro gram, and although at times the club has lost money 011 the day's shooting, the past couple of years has more than com pensated for the expense undertaken. The Hahndorf Rifle Club held "their annual - kingship competitions Jand sports on the Ambleside -Recreation Ground on Tuesday.- Decemberc 28, 1926. The weather was all that could be desired. The attendance'was a record and although there were 59 shooterB (same as last year) the com mittee have every reason to congratu late themselves on having had a most successful day. The various secre taries and their loyal band of officials had, as usual, everything iu tip-top order for the shooting and sports. The Shooting. .Early in the morning ail officials were astir and at 3 a.m. everything was 'in readiness for a start. The procession of riflemen and others, was formed, and headed by the Ambleside Town Band and the club's banner, marched from the Union -Hotel through the main street to the Ambleside Hotel,' whore last year's winner, decorated with the club's medals, joined the procession and was escorted to the shooting grounds. W. tStan) Hanns. after an absence of six months, has resumed charge of the Lyric Theatre, Murray Bridge, for the D. Clifford Pictures, Ltd. During, his absence Mr. A. C.' Hosking took over the management of the theatre and earned the goodwill of the public for his courteous treat merit, and of the direction for his cap able management of the business un der very trying circumstances. Mr. A. C. Weller, Town Clerk of Murray Bridge, who has been indis posed for several days, has resumed duty after the holidays.

CHAPMAN BORE SCHOOL. A Christ max tree wax held at the Chapman Bore School on December 10. 'I'lie hall was prettily decorated and there was a large attendance of parents and friends. Mr. Aeschc acted as Father Christmas. After the distribution of presents, caps and sweets, items were 'rendered by the school children, which were much appreciated, and credit Is due to their teacher <M'ss Kiclan) for a very pleasant evening. Supper was provided by the ladies, after which dancing fol lowed, and a most enjoyable time was spent. Thanks are due to Mr. Weiss for tiie Christmas tree. Messrs. Hocking, Handell, Hood and Bullcr for music, nnd also Mr. K- Price who acted as M. C. for the evening. Mr. Kilford had charge of the lee creams. A collection was 1 taken up towards school funds.
