NEWS AND NOTES. At & meeting of the " Heralds of the Sing," or Young People's Auxiliary to the Australian Board of Missions, Wun. ghaa Branch, held last week, five girls were admitted to fall membership, and Mrs G. B. Graham and Miaa Watson were made Associates. Mi.-s Annie Mapletoft is the secretary. The Reotor explained to all present the objeots of the Society, and urged them to become aotive Mission workers. A set of questions was given to members to answer, and sewing meetings will form part of the year's syllabus. During the holidays wo have baen pleased to see Mr E. F. Marston with ns again; ale« Miss B. L. Patterson, who hoe been home to Strathmerton for a few weeks. This week wo shall be literally en fete at the Rectory grounds. And next week wa have our picture night at Satunga on Wednesday, and at Wunghnu on Thurs day. Obituary. MRS M, THOMPSON. It was with profound regret that: we learned of r.he death of Mra Matthew Thompson, of Yaloa, which occarred on Sunday, Dec. 3S. 1913, and though it is' somewhat late, we must yet give expres sion to the great DBteem and regard in which deceased was held. Her end oama rather suddenly, though she had not been in robust heahh for some time ow ing to heart trouble The deceased lady was the daughter of the late Mr Ralph foung, and as daughter, wife, mother and friend she well filled her part—a du'i ul loving, helpful woman, of whom i it may we'd be sdd, " Well done, thou good and fnthfui servant.'1 For the famdy—hor husband, sons and daugh ters—and other relatives great sympathy was expressed, evidence of this being given expression to by the large assem* , blage at the grave, where the Rev.
