We hail the pleasure of an interview a day or two since with Captain Blakeley, the the well known pioneer of steamboating on the Upper Mississippi. During the past season Captain B. visited the Red River of the North,, to ascertain hy personal exami nation and observance, whether that stream may bo successfully navigated by steam boats. The result of his observations was highly satisfactory, there being in hm opini on, sufficient depth of water for easy naviga tion throughout the season, from Lake Win nipeg to the mouth of the Cheyenne Hiver, a distance of about 050 miles.
