Thummel, a well known German physician in Chelsea, Mem phis, committed suicide last Mon day, by taking Morphine. Four thousand five hundred bales of cotton were sold in Memphis Monday. The Somerville Falcon says the people of Fayette county are unal terably opposed to the erection of the new county of Bell. The celebrated dance house and drinking house, known as the Mag nolia Gardens, a mile from Memphis, was destroyed by lire last Monday. Wm.
