FELICIANA DEMOCR1AT. N , OMMUNIOATED. KNOW NOTHING ECONOMY. A Statement of Facts, to the Tax Payers of East Feliclana. The Police Jury met at Its regular session, June 4, 5, and 6. 1855. Various subjects of parochial affairs came up and were passed upon' accounts of the Parish Treasurer and School Superintendent came up, the parish treasurer mines $11 06. School fund $4,087 88, found to be in the hands of W. W. Chapman, Mills & Cleveland, and Poole & Frank. Why and for what purpose they were in these hands was not stated ; these funds were asked for by one of the examining committee, to be counted, but were not forthcoming. The Commissioners of Bridges, in Ward No - & 5, acting together, had disagreed as to the price to be paid for the building of a bridge and the matter was referred to the whole juryn a cotmmttee was appointed, who accepted and paid $500 for said bridge, (Moore, dissenting) when it was in proof that the builder had bid the building of said bridge down t...
