Mike Fink and the Sell. The story of Mike Finck and the bull would make a cynic laugh. Mike took a notion to go in a swimming, and he had just got hid clothes off when he saw Dea con Smith's bull making at him. The bull was a vicious animal, and had come near killing two or thrco persons; conse quently Mike fell rather jubus. lie did not want to call for help, for he was na kedt and the nearest place from whence assistance could arrive was the meeting house, which was at the time filled with worshippers, amono whom was the 'gal Mike was paying hi3 devours to. So he ilodged the bull as the animal came at him and managed to catch him by the tail. He was dragged around till nearly dead, and when he thought he could hold on no longer he made up his mwid he bad better 'holler, And now wc will let him tell his own story. So, looking tho matter in all its bear ings, I cum to the conclusion that I'd better let some one know whar I was. fco 1 gin to jell louder than a locomotive whistle, and...

It may be laid down as a general rule, ihat the earliest and best specimens of plant should invarably be chosen to furnish the germs of future crops. Corn is tbo most important production of our country; and the special cue must be taken to select seed now for spring.
