-i The Alert, DAILY AND WEEKLY MARSHALLMcCLURE. a. INTRODUCTORY. In accordance with the announce ment in the Daily Alert of yesterday morning I assume the duties of man aging editor to-day, aod shall endea vour to merit the good will of its readers, and so far as I am able, to meet the expectations aroused by the very flattering compliment of the proprietor, in the notice of my arrival yesterday.. The proprietor, Mr. McClure, has by dint of indomitable energy and perseverance built up and perma nently established here a daily and waekly paper that would be a credit and an honor to a town of city pre tensions, and the work he has done in accomplishing this can not be fully realized except by those who have engaged in like enterprises, and I am gratified to learn that in his strug gle he has had the generous en couragement and support of this people. The increasing business and cares of the office have made it beyond human indftrance for him to attend to both the supervision oi...
