LOCAL NEWS. Miner. Adieu. Mr. Charles E. Miner, Western Passenger Agent for the Sunset and Star and Crescent routes, leaves to-day for El Paso and intends making that city his future headquarters. Mr. Miner is an able and courteous gentleman and his many friends regret that his duty obliges him to leave the Alamo city. Moro About That Ctinln. Postmaster Gen eral Gresham to-day placed upon the fraud list the Industral Works, New Philadelphia, Ohio, and the Union Trust company, St. Louis. Troubla Ahead. London, April 13- A teltgram from Hong Kong dated the nth, says th; French minis ter to China arranged the Tonqu in affair sat . Isfactorlly in December, but the new French minister rejected the arrangement. The re sult will probobly be a long and costly war for the French. China will use the best crops, and will probably be commanded by European leaders and perhaps be assisted by an European ally. Two Cent Stamp, Postmaster General Gresham to-day ap proved the design for the new two-cent pos tage stamp. Two' women were titling in the library of the Woman'' Christian Home a few days ago waiting f6r some other women who were to conduct a business meeting.
