She left Liverpool on the 17th, making the run to Halifax in ten days : The British Parliament ha* been prorogued by the Qneen. In her Prorogation speech she says v-. Bobbery oj Jewelry.—Dr. Houghton, who occupies an office near the Model Restaurant, between Commercial and Sacramento streets, win robbed a few nights since, of some four or five thousand dollars worth of Jewelry. The door of the office, it seems, was broken open, as was also a trunk, and the Jewelry carried off. So far the rogues have escaped detection. .4 Murder.—We learn • negro murdered in Pacific street on Friday night last, in a house called the Globe Saloon. The Murderer, also a negro, made his escape before the arrival of the police. We are informed that a Chinaman was brought to the city yesterday, on board the steamer Wm. Robinson, from Stockton, very badly injured, his arm being broken,and his akuU badly injured.
