OBITUARY MR. H. E. MITCHELMO-Ri: Mr. Henry Ernest Mitchelmore, 73, member of the Wagga legal firm of Heath and Mitchelmore, died last Fri day. The late Mr. Mitchelmore was prominently associated with the public ?affairs of Wagga for more than half a century. Born at Williamstown, Mr. Mitchelmore came to Wagga with his father, the late Jabez Mitchelmore, more than 60 years ago. After com pleting his schooling, Mr. Mitchelmore became articled to the firm of Garland and Anderson, solicitors, of Wagga, and served his legal apprenticeship in company with the late Mr. H. O. Heath. The two young men later amalgamated resources in 'a legal partnership which absorbed the linn to which they had been attached. Out standing in .local circles of law, the, firm was legal adviser to the Wagga Municipal Council, the Mitchell' . and Kyeamba shires, the Wagga Pastures Protection Board, the Murrumbidgee Pastoral and Agricultural Society, and tho Star Bowkett Society. Judging from reports of sheep sales already held this month, and of those to come, it is expected that the earlier estimate ' of 100,000 sheep to be sold at the Wagga municipal saleyards this month will be greatly exceeded. On. Saturday last Messrs. Dalgety and Co. Ltd., . Wagga, held a very suceessf ul special sheep sa.le, when more than 24,000 were sold at prices firm to bet ter than recent high rates and the A.M.L. and F. Co. Ltd. reported a clearance of more than 42,000 sheep at their special ? sheep salee, when there was a splendid demand, and the offer ings were sold at rates anuch higher than those prevailing for some months. COMMERCIAL —Continued ALBURY SPECIAL SHEEP SALE OUTSTANDING SUCCESS ^Younghusband Limited (Inc.- Vic.) report : — Wo held a ' special sheep sale at Albury last Monday, January 13, when we yarded 23,000 extra weil bred store sheep to an exceptionally large attendance of buyers from Wel leington, Wagga, Lockhart, -Hoi brook, Jingellie, . iCorowa, Benalla, Yarra wonga, Wangaratta and Melbourne; over 21,000 being sold at auction. Competition from the outset of the sale was animated and all descrip tions were keenly sought after and in most cases showed a 3/ rise on recent sales in this centre, with odd pens as much as jj^-.Odd pens of aged merino wethers -mR*..the only class of sheep to show any slackness.
