Coursing. [Newspaper Article] — Dookie and Katamatite Recorder — 21 May 1914

Coursing. Mi'. Frank Forer gave his fine looking Victoria Derby candidate a trial " go " in the early part of the week, and the dog gave a very brilliant account of himself, ex hibiting all the qualities of a line greyhound. Frank intends offer ing his dog's chance in the Derby for sale, and- anyone who con siders himself a sport should lose no time in communicating with that gentleman, as one of his chief characteristics is "first come first served." Pressure of busi ness will, in all probability, pre vent our young coursing enthusi ast from witnessing his dog com peting at the Derby meeting. Should Wives Obey Their Husbands? [Newspaper Article] — Dookie and Katamatite Recorder — 21 May 1914

Should Wives Obey Their Husbands ? This is a question that one would imagine offered but two unqualified answers, and yet in the May num ber of " Everylady's Journal," just out, we iind— upwards of a dozen prominent people expressing various opinions on the subject. And they are people of widely different station and profession. Men as far apart as Mr. Bernard O'Dowd, the well known Australian poet, and Mr. Paris Nesbifc K.C.; men so closely associated—by their laughter—as Harry Lauder and Sir Alexander Peacock; and stage favorites like Miss Ada Beevo and Miss Daisy Jerome, all differ more or less on thi3 important topic. Eveu champions of Women's Bights like Miss Vida Goldstein and Miss Adela Pankburst are not quite at one about it. Harry Lauder — the famous Scotch comedian, who is at present via/oiij^ Australia—looked very seri ous as he said, " But women won't obey if they don't want to ! No, not even if they have promised in twenty marriage services." "Anyway," be added, "in any...
