THE ILLINOIS FREE TRADER. Vrelm View Arrival of the Britannia. The steam-ship Britannia arrived at Boston on the 19th ult., bringing Liver pool dates to the 4th, and London to the evening of the 3d inst. The news is un usually unimportant. . Lord Palmerston brought forward hrr motion relative to the Ashburton Treaty in the house of commons on the 21th. The debate which followed between the mover and Sir Robert Peel, seems to have had very little effect, except to display the forensic abilities of the two leaders. In the House of Commons, April 3, Sir R. Peel stated in reply to a question from Lord J. Russell, that he had recei ved despatches from Mr. Fox with a copy of the President's Message and the com munication of Mr. Webster, and that he would lay them before the House. The government had not given any instructions to Lord Ashburton that modilied Lord Aberdeen's despatch of December, 1841 by its principles they wero determined to adhere. While the Essex wu laying at the Marquesas Islands, recruiting her crew from one of the long and arduous cruises in the Pacific, Commodore Porter was informed, through a servant of one of the officers, that a mutiny had been planned, and was on the eve of consummation. That it was the intention of the muti neers to rise upon the officers, take pos session of the ship, and, after having re mained as long as they found agreeable at the island, to hoist the black flag, and cruise on their own account." Having satisfied himself of the truth of the infor mation, Commodore Porter ascended to the quarter-deck, and ordered all the crew to be summoned aft.
