He ac oordinr wrote the Department his views on the subject, and recommended that Fremont ba oa longer maintained aa a port of entry The matter was, by the department, referred to the Collector of the Port, at Sandusky, for endorsement ; but that officer, better in formed than the (8) prowl-irg agent, notified i he Department that he could not endorse the recommendation of the agent. . A single leaf does not, but thousand of leaves do, and at thi season of the year, we bare thousands, yea, myriad of leave lying around cur houses, a nuisance if left scattered about, but a great lleasinjr if rightly disposed of. We must not des pise little things. "Many a little makes a uiickle," as the Scotch pioverb has it. The world is made up of atom of mat ter which is to small that they cannot be aeen or weighed. Leaves are richer in inorganic mailer than almost any other vegetable sub stances, aryiug with .different kind of trees, from two to twelve' per cent. They are.
