Wise Talks By The Office Boy A young couple that were going to be married pret' y soon were talking over their future plans. "You know, dearie, you will have to attend to the culinary duties for a while, until we can afford a cook," said the fond husband-to-be. "'Oh, that will be all right, prec ious," she replied, "I can make the bestest fudge." Honestly I don't know what's going to become of me if business don't ease up. I don't S. = r get any time to talk to my girl at all any more, and I am just scared 4 " to death that some other fellow will beat my time. I told the manra , cr about my troubles today and he said: "Billy, don't cross the i '- bridge until you come to it," and he added, "No girl wants a parlor ornament nowadays; what they want is a live wire, a bread winner. Kisses and moonshine are all right in stories, but bread and pork chops beat them in real life." Well, this store is full of live wires, no ornaments here except those lovely rings, bracelets and necklaces in...

Wise Talks By The Office Boy TEA AND DINNER SE3TS: I heard a man say the other day. "if a fellow doesn't expec anything else for Christmas, he can always expect his wife's - tions." Gee, I could put a lot of fellows wise if I knew who they S were. There's ever so many nice looking ladies who look as if they pmight have swell hubbies looking at those dandy hand painted plates, / dinner sets and cut glass at our store. Things are getting warm around here and the manager says, 'the knockers can knock all they want to, but business exceeds my fondest expectations." One thing he and the boss have been so busy they haven't called me down for thec last two weeks. By the way that fine line of Haviland tea and I!; dinner sets is going like hot cakes.
