MORNING LEADER. PUBLISHED BY 70WLES k CO. E. THtKfUAV MOItMNU. SEPT. 30, The Atlantic Cable---Weighing Electricity. The iutrlligence from London touching the future of the Atlantic Cable ia discouraging. The Times of the 17th says the 1000 sham had declined to between 420 and 460. It ap Dean the recent exDcrimenU induced a belief that the fracture or fractures fur it is thought that there may be two will be found at a dis tance of between 200 and 3 10 mile from the shore. For about 23 J or 240 miles the depth is only 410 fathoms, and within that range the mischief could easily be repaired, but a sudden descent then occurs to 1518 fathoms, where it is extremely doubtful if anything could be done. The probability seems that it is at this abrupt point where the damage has been sustained The London Observer also presents some Tery interesting facts touching the Cable, weighing ' electricity, and the machinery to test the locale of breaks in continuity. So little cun&Ieoce is felt in...
