Here is an extract: ' You assert that the claim* of mod- ern spiritualism must he true; dow set your thinker to work'and tell me how it is true. What kind of cloth- ing do they wear? And upon what meat do they subsist? And what their avocations there? Or must we think of their eternal idleness there, with guardian angels to keep thing* in repair? States Attorney Msxey, of Shtr- man, ha* authorized the publication of the following card: I wish you would sav that I have in my possession a gold band ring, worn thin on the bottom side, bur growing tjhicker and broader and spangling' with perforations a# it nears the clasp, which holds a black act in Which there is fastened a monogram letter D of the old Eng- lish style. On the outside edge of the monogram are four sets of chipped diamond about the size of a pin-head, and on the inside edge are two similar stones. In script on the inside are engraved the initials D. F. and the ring is marked 14k. It is aaid to have been pawned in New Mexico by a man now in the Hous- ton street prison on the charge of murder.
