rj iitont School News $ 1908-1909 ji WAY:—Think Clearly; fearlessly; act immediately \ The supreme duty of every citizen of Aspermont is a proper appreciation of the school and its needs. There is enough time lost here to build, equip, and maintain a school on the basis of a ten thousand-dollar building with everything else in propor- tion. I know thai you have done much; but there is a demand made upon you today that you have met before. Let's let the hours that we have devoted to street loafing, heretofore, be given to the school, hereafter. Let's give to the school the time we have spent in minimizing its efforts. Let's spend for the children's books the money that we have been blowing-in. In a word, let's be men and quit ourselves like men. Two young men were employ- ed in a factory. Each had an hour to himself every day. One spent the time in training a poodle to stand on its head. The other spent his time in working an invention. At the end of 12 months both had succeeded. One...

Cultivate a spirit of cheerful- ness and gather friends about you by the magic of a sunny face. "All out for Aspermont." In six months time we will be able to hear the conductor on the Stamford & Northwestern call out in stentorian tones "All out for Aspermont," the city of de- light. At last we have succeeded. It has been a long, hard pull, but by perseverence and a deter- mined spirit on the part of some of our best citizens we have suc- ceeded. Tell your friends and write your relatives back east that Aspermont is going to have a railroad. If you wish your children to be respectful to you, then you should be respectful to them.
