MODERN SHEEP-SHEARING IVlACHiNEHY. Our object in submitting this article is to bring before the notice of Pas toral is Isanti Wool growers generally the advantages to be derived from the use of the Hheep-shcaring Machinery.-* It ia a recognised fact that niachiho shears will only do the best.work when held close to the skill ; Litis is a guar-' an too that'the staple will be of even length, and also that the riioro vain able part of the. wool, that close to tho skin, ivill pass over the tables. Jn the shearing of grown sheep Lh'ere is always a gain of from .12 to 1(5 o/.s. of wool for the first season ; thus it will hi! seen that the oxtra wool ob tained isquitesiifiii-ient, with anything like a dccent flock, to more than cover the entire cost of the machinery' and engine from the first year'sclip. Something Light in the Way of Cooking. [Newspaper Article] — The Wollondilly Press — 5 May 1906

Something Light in the, of Cooking. It would bo a distinct disappoint ment to find Easter's cuisine prepara tions 11 lamentable failure, and this is what easily might happen if you do not already insist upon the kitchen being supplied with Dr. Waugh's Baking Powdkk, and be careful to avoid all substitutes, which endea vour to build on Da. Waugu's repu tation. There are many schemes tried by onv'oiiB competitors to beguile the unwary. Olio is to give an apparently larger tin, but the compound will be found to be mainly a bulk of cheap rica flour, with a small proportion of some leavening preparation. But Dn. Waugh's is very economical, a small portion does more leavening than treble the amount of the imita tor's drugs. Dr. Waugh's Baking Powder - makes Pastry, &c., " as light as air." and by its use is proved to he whole some, " bosker, " and in every way a most desirable culinary preparation.

Dorothy had changed much during these last few woeks. Tha white "cheeks wore never tinged now with the healthy red glow of old. The great eyes, encircled with dark rings, no longer flashed those sunny smiles, but expressed a wondrous sadness. Her manner was languid and weary. She was bowed down beneath the weight of sorrow. Oh, how I pitied lior, my poor little cousin. How willingly would I have borne all this pain and suftering if it could but lighten her load of care. Poor, frail, little woman, how weary, ho...

CHAPTER VIII. [Newspaper Article] — The Wollondilly Press — 5 May 1906

CHAPTER VIII. Edmund Jacomb paced the floor of the library at Sylvia Park with measured atepa. His browe were traoted, the thick lips tightly shut. His hands, held behind his back, clasped and unclasped almost ner vously ns he walked. He was thinking deeply. A master mind of cunning was planning, intriguing, conniving, for the outcome of many weeks' work. Seated at the table in the corner of the room nearest the big coloured windows, was Jacomb's secretary, steward, and companion. This person had attended tbo same college, and later, as a youth, had accompanied Jacomb to Sylvia Park, there to live as manager of the estate, but in reality to bo a companion of its master. For Charles Lasker, though brought up to a good position, was apparently without relatives or money, and needed some such person as Jacomb on whom to depend for an easy living. Ho was small, wiry, dark, and somewhat spare-looking. As ho sat at the table, he toyed with a pen, and watched Jacomb idly from beneath long ...

Concert at Moss Vale. [Newspaper Article] — The Wollondilly Press — 5 May 1906

Concert at Moss Vale. On Tuesday night there was a very fair attendance at the Centennial Hall, Moss .Vale,'on. the, occasion of the combined concert by members of the Moss Vale Musical Society and the Moss Vale Town Band. The rqembers of each came for ward .willingly with their assistance, the result hejng that an excellent programme was compiled, and, when allowance is made for the comparatively short time at the disposal of the performers to prepare their items, the result must be considered eminently satisfactory, and is'certainly in dicative of sonie excellent work in the future.- The band led off with an inter mezzo New Mown Hay" (Jason V. 'Matthews), performing very creditably under the baton of Mr. Colin Ferguson. Later in the evening ,the band made another appearance in the intermezzo " A Night in Switzerland" (J. Ord Hume), and the innovation of band items in a con cert at Moss Va|e was much appreciated. The remaining instrumental pieces, were much enjoyed, particularly th...
