A large amount of evidence was taken on both sides. The decision of the Bench was, that the defendant in this case was not warrant ed In discharging the plaintiff on the oc casion of February 6. The defendant mast therefore pay the full amount of wages due up to the termination of the Agreement produced, \iz—24th March, together with the costs amounting in all. to £8 6s.

John ReeveB, farmer, Kadina—On Monday the 11th Oct., had the horse produced In Courtyard -working during part of the da;. Turned it out with two others on to the Crown Lands. On Thursday, the 13th, went out to look for the horse, but could not find it. Went from place to place to try and find it, but could not, Haying satisfied myself, after searching for ten days, that it was stolen, put the matter into the' hands of the -police. Hardy, the well known wine maunfacturer, has built in Carrie St. the largest wine cellars in Australia. Mr Mark Saunders; Commercial Hotel, Jamestown, died suddenly yesterday morning of inflammation of the lungs. 11.50 p.m. The Carola war-ship exchanged a salute of twenty-one guns with the Semaphore Forts this afternoon. MINING, Thb KuBiiiLA.—This mine continues to look we'll and is being extended rapidly into the old Devon Consols where the prospects ace good. Recently a rich de posit of green ore was found near the surface within a few fathoms of GurnerTs shaft in a isouth-west direction. The ore was evidently the cap of a lode and the nodnlaf-fetorier were laiddtofe on the other very 'like the granite qnoils found under the moss and lichen in the fells and commons in the old country, with the in terstices filled with mud, evidently washed down by ram. Directly below the layer - of ore, which was four feet thick verti cally and covering an area of ten feet by eight, there is a mass of vein-stuff, fa colour and general appearance, like ore taken oat of a qalciner, but softer. It is but seldom that, the process of formation is so plainly indicated as in this case'— suggesting, as it does, that from the ag glomerated -mass, before induration, the various elements, in obedience to the laws of affinity...
