VARIETIES. tUnn Wokk. — It is hard work to luoksttU sun without winking ; and it is hard work to look at some girls without feeling inclined to wink. It's hard work to do nothing, and hive too nracli of it on hand ; and it's hard work to collect a debt of one who says, ' I'll pay to morrow.' It's hard work to scratch ideas for a paragraph alter being on tbe spree fi« twenty four hours; and it's hard work to 'stem tbe torrent of a woman's will.' It's hard work to refuse a good offer ; and it's harder still to i* compelled to accept a bad one. It's bard work for many peoplu to live ; and doubly hard for mm to die. A Lirrm Dissertation on Kissisfi.— Th« first oddity that comet in my way is a remark by some one tiiat kisses are like creation, became they are made of nothing, and they are very good. A very sensible remark, by the way — and tbe Dcxtus definition of 'buss.'' Tims, bun, to kiss ; rebuts, to kiss again ; pluribus, to kiat without regard to sex ; tilibue, to kiss tbe land ins...
