DAYLESFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL. Owing to Monday being a public holiday the usual fortnightly meeting of the Daylesford Borough Council was adjourned until Tues day evening, when there were present Mayor G. W. Praker and Crs J. W. King, Trewhella, Bromfield,k Wal ton, A. Martin, Howe, and G. Brown. Cr Densem, who was away in Mel bourne, sent an apology for non-at tendance.—Explanation accepted as satisfactory. CORRESPONDENCE. Dr Ruddle reported that George Freeman, aged 21 years, of West st was ill with typhoid fever. The Secretary ot the Queen's Me morial Infectious Diseases Hospital, notified that Albert Pardon, aged 12 years, hailing from Daylesford Muni cipal district, was an inmate of the institution, suffering from diphtheria. The Council was asked for an ad mission order.—Cr Trcwhella said that a claim re payment for Pardon's   treatment was evidently to be made. Enquiry should be made as to where the lad contracted the disease. It seemed peculiar, if he contracted it...
