The market on Friday, last improved for all descriptions, a still further riso was perceptible on Tuesday and Wednesday, with tho rosult that valuos this week aro fully oqual to tho highly satis factory prices which wore in evidence a fort night ago. All descriptions participated, tho demand being vory strong, especially noticeable in good and primo baconers. Wo quote extra prime and weighty baok falters, 50s to 60a; f)rime weighty baconers, 44s to 48s; primo lertvy, 40s to 44s; good heavy, 36s to 40s; light to good, 32B to 36s; light, 27s to 31s; best heavy porkers, 23s to 26s; good, 20s to 23s; and others, from 14s to 20s, according to weight and quality. Jan. 23.-Sincc the opening of llie prusen scries of wool sales 32,241 nales have been catalogued, of which 30,860 bales were sold. Jan. 23.-Harrison, .Jones, & Devlin, Ltd. : Report having received from their London agents, Messrs. Sanderson, Murray and Co., the following cablegram :-Compared with closing rates of November sales, medium to good merino and medium to coarse crossbred wools have advanced 5 to 7i per cent. Extra good, inferior, and heavy, und earthy greasy merino and crossbred fine to very fine, show the least advance. Coarse to medium greasy crossbred market advanced 10 per cent. ICxtra good scoured merino market shows no change. Jan. 23.-Union Mortgage and Agency Com pany ,|of Australia, Limited.-The sales continue very firm, and the rise in values has generally been fully supported. John Bridge and Co. Fat 1'igs.-Since last reporting 1,1KR pigs were disposed of, namely, 230 on Friday, -188 on Tuesday, and 470 on Wednesday. With Friday's small supply forward to a strong de mand, prices from the start of the sale began to harden, and before the close haconers were selling at an advance of fully fis to 8s per head on the previous day's sales' quotations. Porkers also advanced ou Friday, and prices for botli classes were fully maintained on Tuesday. We quote :-Extra primo heavy back fatters, 50s to 55s, with an occasional one to 60s; primo heavy haconers, 45s; medium, 35a to 3Ss 6d, and light 32s; best heavy porkers, 27s Gd; light, 18s to 22s; stores, 9s to 14s 6d.-Jan. 25.
