The Rockhampton Bulletin AND CENTRAL QUEENSLAND ADVERTISED. THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 1872. [Newspaper Article] — Rockhampton Bulletin — 15 February 1872

%\i ^ocHjampton §ulletiit AND CENTRÂT, QÜEENSIAND ADVERTISED.. THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 16, 1872. POSSIBTT some of our readers are weary of the long-projected bridge over the Eitsroy River. It is, however, a subject on which a majority of the aldermen aro bent upon taking immediate action. Some proposals are on tho tapis which involve the expenditure of a large sum of money, and may saddle the munici- pality with a heavy debt. On thin account every ratepayer has a direct and deep interest in the mattor. Therefore, at the riele of being todioun, we shall take the liberty of recurring once more toit. The proposed structure might be one of throe kinds, vi?,., a pontoon bridge, a wooden pile bridge, or an iron girder bridge. Speaking roughly, the first named may be estimated to cost £10,000; the second, £20,000 to ¡£§$3000; and the third, £35,000 to £10,000. The first, we believe, is within the means of the Municipal Council. That is, by floating an additional loan, which would raise the tota...
