Indigestion. CAN IT BE BANISHED, Most cases of acute indigestion are the result of neglect or of indifference People get into a foolish habit of thinking-that tney will be better on the morrow, or in a week or two, and so the complaint gets hold and. the sufferer goes from bad to worse. Food ought to give up the life sus taining elements for every nerve and muscle in your body ; it ought to replenish the -rich, r d stream of blood flowing through your veins, ana help you to think, to act, and to work with the vim of a healthy man. In order to binish indigestion, and to prevent its return, take ati oc cassional dose of Mother Seigcl's Syrup daily after your Meals. Its remarkable effeo' upon the stomach, liver and bowels will soon be speedily shown by the improvemoit in your health. Mrs-M. Sprivener, of 28, Prospect Street, Erskinaville, N S.W. wr-ting on Januarry 9th, I9i3, says : ''A few years back I was delicate and weakly, and in 'almost constant misery through indigestion. CORRESPONDENCE. We do not hold ourselves responsible for the opinions expressed by our correspondents.] Wandering Stock. TO THE EDITOR. [Newspaper Article] — Nathalia Herald and Picola, Narioka, Kotupna and Moira Advertiser — 10 March 1914

CORRESPONDENCE. We do not hold ourselves responsible for the opinions expressed by our corres pondents.] Wandering Stock. TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I don't l ice to complain, but when imposed upon loo much even a worm will turn. The trouble is wandering stock, particularly cows. These pests not only wander over every street, get into gardens, but even graze amongst the weeds in the ci-jclc from whence the town water supply is drawn. There is an in sp.'ctor^ of nuisances and 1 am in formed* that' he made one or two spasmodic efforts to abate the nuis ance complained of, but of late one would think his eyesight is getting defective:. Perhaps he dnes not like ihe job, but if so the least lie could do in that case would bo to let some one else have a try. Anyway some thing will have to be done or it is hard to say what will happen.— x ours etc., Ratepayer.

Floods on the Goulburn. LEVEE SCHEME ABANDONED ABOUT £120,000 SPENT. [Newspaper Article] — Nathalia Herald and Picola, Narioka, Kotupna and Moira Advertiser — 10 March 1914

Floods on the Goulburn. LEVEE SCHEME ABANDONED / ABOUT £120,000 SPENT] Tho state has now* finally aban doned its scheme for the erection of levee banks along the course nf the Gnulburn River, alleged to be for the proteciiori of the property of land holders in the locality ffom damage by perio lie floods. About .£120,000 has been'1 spent on this project, and opinion is divided as to whether the whole, or only a part of it, ;has been so much money thrown away. In earlier yearsj'commencing in 1897, Public Works Department used up £96,000 on a series of these works on the river. These works were doubtless, all right in their way,\but they did not stop the floods. In fact, many landholders have pro tested that they have but made things.worse ; that the levee banks thus constructed have in reality proved a greater menace to farmers and settlers than were the open banks of the river. Hoping that a more satisfactory scheme could be carried out, which would prevent all the past expendi ture...
