The New Drill Manual The new Manual of Drill Regulations recently adopted by the War Department is causing a little trouble for both officers and men , owing to the many changes made. The Manual of Arms is practically the same as in the old regulations, changing only the movement from Port to Rt. Shoulder from a two count to a three count movement. The most striking change is in the formation of the Company. Under the new regulations the rear rank "fall in" at a distance of 40 inches and that interval is maintained always when marching in company front . The old "fours" are done away with, both as a unit of the company and in the wording of commands , and "squads" are substituted. There is a marked tend ency to treat the squad , as a un it , j ust as they treat the company, as a unit; and thus , "squads right" and "squads right turn ," the movements which have replaced "fours right" and "right turn " are executed in exactly the same manner as "Company right ," and "Company right tur...

Dairy Union . The annual meeting of The Pennsylvania Dairy Union was held in Harrisburg on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. Interesting papers were presented by Prof. R. A. Pearson of Cornell University, Dr. C. 3. Marshall, of Philad&phia , Prof. John W. Decker , of the Ohio State University, Dr. Wm. Frear , of The Pennsylvania State College, and Dr. Leonard Pearson , State Veterinarian. The program also included an address by the Secretary of Agriculture , The Hon. N. _3. Critchfield , the President’ s annual address , and a discussion concerning the threatened repeal of the Grout Bill taxing colored oleomargarine lOc per pound. Although nothing definite has been sett]ed, it is understood that the Alumni committee on the Commencement Jubilee have plans , which if materialized will make the coming 50th Anniversary of the founding of the College, a "hummer." They intend to ask the Board of Trustees to set aside one day of Commencement Week for the Alumni, adding one day to the usual number. It is rumored that the Committee has $1000 to spend and as its members are "live ones , " we may look forward to something out of the usual run. They intend to ask for McAllister Hall to use as Alumni Headquarters and if this is granted they will give a luncheon there on Alumni Day, doing away with the regulation Alumni luncheon in the Armor...

Debating Club About ten students met in room 367 on Friday evening, Dec. 18th , and reorganized the Debating Club. The advisability of resurrecting the club and continuing in the Debating League was thoroughly discussed. _Ii was finally decided to give the proj ect another trial and each man present pledged himself to do all in his power to awaken interest.
