The oil gamblers of Bradford, Pa., got pqucczed badly pome days since, by the refusal of the banks to make advances on vi certificates. Fully 3,000,000 barrels of oil were thrown on the market and sold at the lowest figure. The effect was bo disastrous that the Oil Exchange seriously contemplated closing business until money became easier. A. 8. Solomons, of Washington Chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means of the Garfield Memorial Hospital, has received advices from Con sul l'icrotto, at Lyons, France, that he has opened a subscription at the Con lulato in aid of the proposed hospital, and who states that 15,000 francs have been handed him.
