saturdayTugust" .ti .a, rxiox vs. HEpraucAjf. The people of Leavenworth City recently wiled a Union Convention, to nominate a city ticket. The meeting was to be a con glomeration of everything that could lisp Union. After the organization of the Con vention, ten gentlemen were appointed to -elect a ticket for city offices. 5 This com mittee could not agree, and the Convention adjourned until Monday evening. Six gen tlemen out of the ten agreed upon a ticket, and reported it to the Convention ; but the other four made a inhiority report. After considerable discussion the majority report was auopiea.ana those that were disap pointed seceded and held a meeting in an other ball. They agreed to elect delegate to an unconditional Union Convention. The Timet hoists the names nominated by the first convention, while the Conservative ad vocates the cause of the seceders.
