Browning recently, handed a representative of tbe News n Toil owl irg^rftiole: Twenty months ago I was sent to the penitentiary from McKinney. Lieut. Got. Browning granted me an uncondition pardon one day last week. It in not for me to speak 9f 10v ease at this time. I was convict- ed and served the State until its Chief Executive said, "It's enough; the debt is paid." I put up my time on the Hill county eonvict farm, aud it is of my short experience there that I wish to speak. I had read Euglish novels wherein the author traversed every defpart inonfc of Old Newgate. I had read the story of Charles Read's "Tom Eobinson" and Dicken's "Uriah Heep and Mr. Litiraer."
