Running a Newspaper. [Newspaper Article] — Ouyen Mail and Central Mallee Advertiser — 24 April 1914

Running a Newspaper. Thus the Dimboola " Times" : " It's great fun running a country newspaper. If you trample on Smith's cabbage garden Jones howls with delight, and calls on the editor .ilof-..srmilEm.ndc com pliments. Smith stops his paper. But the time comes when the editor walks over Jones' potato patch, and then a curt note is received from Jones to " discontinue sending me the paper." Mleantime Smith is rushing round the town telling everybody what a good article was in yesterday's paper rubbing it into Jones, and he ends up at the news paper office with the breathless re quest to send along the paper again. - The editor doesn't worry, he has been through it a dozen times, and still imanages to keep the old flag flying. As one .sub scriber goes off another comes on. It's like putting your finger in a dish of water and looking for the hole when you pull it out.
