HEIDELBERG POLICE COURT. MODNDAY, OCTOBER 16. (Before Dr. Rollason, Cr. Keam, and Messrs Macleod and Carruthers, J.'sP.) Wandering Stock. Constable Ewit (Doncaster) v. Gee. Matthews, for alloffing two cows and two heifers to wander in Templestowo. It was the first prosecution of the kind sincethe amalgamatiou of the two shires. J. A. Smith, ranger, gave evidence, and defendant was fined 15/ and 2/6 costs. ' Same v . A. Hughes, cow and heifer. Fined 7/6 and 2/6 costs. Offensive Behaviour. - John Phillips, Collingwood, was charg ed with offensive behaviour in Ivanhoe, on September 23, by leading a mare through the street with parts of two legs of a dead foal protruding. Evidence was given by D. Rodger, J. W. Brown, G. Banfield, J. Burn, and the police. Defendant was in a jinker, and the mare was being led behind it. Constable Hirrison stated that defen dant told him that hehad put a cover over the mare, but she kicked it off. He told him to take her to a stable, and not remove her wit...

I When it was arranged by the Associa tion to enter the A section of the Vict3o rian Bbwling Association's peanant, I was dubious of the wisdom of the deci sion. They have got into very strong company, which includes Armadale, North Fitzroy, City, Northcote and Preston. All these clubs I am acquainted with and played against, but I hare not had a game at Glenferrie Hill. Last Saturday City club (which is really old West Melbourne) visited Ivanhoe, and they departed good winners, having a mijority of 30 points, and were up in three rinks. A.Walker (Ivanhoe) met W. C. OrPOSITIOY MEETING. -There was a fair audience in the Ile. reation Hll, Heidelberg, on Monday evening, w hen Mrs Lavender and Ir Maloriey addressed them on the disad. esutages that would follow if conscrip. tion were passed. Mr i. MLcugh was in the chair. A man, a little the worse for liquor, interjected, and had to retire, Others who attempted to interject, were promptly told to keep quiet. When Mrs Lavender had been speaking some time a man with a big voice said, " You are all very well, Madame, but give the little doctor a show." He was told to shut up. He waited for some time, and repented his sentence, and after a few coemands from the champions of the lady, loft his seat. A resolution was passed, on the motion of Mrs Lavender and Dr. Male. ney,-that the meeting pledges itseif to do its utmost to defest the Government proposal.
