Ashburton Guardian Magna est Veritas et Prævalebit. TUESDAY, MAY 15, 1906. THE EVILS OF CRAM. The condemnation which. Dr Truby King has uttered against the present system of eduoation has attraoted a very considerable amount of attention both from the public and from educational and medical authorities, and rightly so, for the experience and learning of Dr King entitle him to speak ' with the utmost freedom on such a subject. As regards serious crimes the improvement is equally satisfactory. The number of those actually confined in Australian prisons is considerably less now than it was twenty years ago.
