As rule, there are very few changes in evening clothes year by year, but this season a number of important changes have been made which are being followed ty well-dressed men. The vest oneniug ia vxtremely broad, and is shaped at the Injttoin like the letter "l\" whether the vest is single or donblo-breasted. The roll of the coat has been increased iu length, and the nousers are rather more tapering than formerly. According to the Satorial Art Journal, it is now correct to have the vest, wheth­ er single or double-breasted, made from a black figured silk. This is said to be a revival of an old fashion introduced by the Prince of Wales. There is a general lack of good materials for these vests, but a number of fashionable tailors are making arrangements to lay in a supply of vestings of the approved kind.
