The following is a portion of our San Francisco correspondent's letter, which we could not find room for last week : San Francisco, Oct. 13, 1849. * * * * * The mail arrived from Monterey yesterday evening, and to-day I hear that the Convention would adjourn on the 13th, (Saturday) I have had a glimpse of the constitution as it has been delivered to the printers, Messrs. Gilbert & Kemble, and I furthermore learn that the boundary question was settled after three days of unceasing storm of debate. Pleasant and speedy may be their journey homeward, and long may they live to enjoy the reward of their industry and energy. Candidates for the Election Nov. 13.—We are authorized to present the name of Peter H. Burnett as a candidate for Governor of California at the coming Election. We have no authority from Edward Gilbert, senior Editor of the Alta California, to present his name as a candidate for Representative to Congress, b...
