It is only to subject the boards before using to the tht actiou of the fire by way of thoroughly sea- soning them. Nail them on immediately and cover them with sheathing paper mid a dress- ing of tar aud a coloring almost for life tune may safely be calculated upou. The rafters three inches deep one and a half thick; the boards of an inch thick straight ou the edges and closely nailed.
