Rr . sprCT OF TltK AoMIM-TnATION FOU THB SI . NV . TE It is well known that the President , at the last session of Congress , nominated one Col . Stambaugb , for an Indian Agency . The Senate rejected the nomination ; but the President has continued him in that office until the present time—and the . Globe is now publishing co n ic t o vv ritten by the same Col . Stombaugh , or some fliend for him , lauding his conduct , with the evident tlesign of bringing him into more favorable notice with the Senate . Indeed , judging from the little manoeuvres which have for senile time been progressing in this case , we hove but little doubt that the President , after the utter contempt , with which he has treated that co-ordinate branch of the government , lay before the Senate , a new nomination of this same Stambaugb . We have this wc 1 ; presented our readers with an artiele on the cultivation of Hemp , ¦ alioti for market , —which was published by the Secretary of the Navy , by order of Congress . The value of Hemp as a crop , has for some time been properly appreciated by farmers in diiiercnt sections of our country , who have found it . taking all things -. lion , one of the most profitable crops . Russian H .-inp is now selling in New York at $ & 40 per ton , and American Hemp ( dew rotted ) at ® 150 per ton . The difference in price is occasioned by the different manner in which the article is prepared for market . — Hemp is not likely to lie injured in transportation , or in storing , if properly put up—will stand in all climates , and loses nothing by rein lining on hand a year or more : —and more than all , it ever meets with a ready sale , and good price , in our Atlantic cities . We wish that our farmers could be induced to turn their attention to this subject . In...

We are not surprised that the administration party should manifest some fears for their ascendancy in the Senate . But however the parties may be nrranecd as recards numbers , it is very certain that the talent is with tl . cpo ,-ition . On that side , there are— R Clay , and Clayton , and Holmes—0 , 1 the I aihoun side , Haynes , and Tazewell , and Tyler ; and on the administration side , there are 110 men above third raters , unless Mrs . Grundy be one . Bcuton with all his fulminating speeches , ( to continue the simile ) is generally o lie ship , which usually explode * to the discomfiture of his own party . The arrangement of parties in the senate excites much interest . It is evident that many of its members hardly know which side to take . — - in this point will be ., few days .
