f SQT0TALO2 IS THE METROPOLIS. Pictures of lAfe In Shanty Town, New York. -A Blff-Headed Prodigy. r Ifc Is one of the odd features of New York that among imposing apartment houses and rows of brownstone fronts there should exist such a squalid settle ment of bushwhackers as certainly is Shanty Town. The Inhabitants of that unattractive village are by no means poverty-stricken, however. They all have ready money and many of them more than a suffici ency of it, though their dwcl lings and tho furnishings thereof are primitive in tho extreme. Family pride is as rampant there as in the houses thatline the broader and straighter avenues of the city. In one of the huts, In the lower part of Shanty Town, there Is a physical mon strosity that would make the heart of a .dime museum man leap with joy and excite the liveliest interest of the scien tist. Playing with the children and dogs of that delectable locality is a child six years of age, whoso head when ho was ten months old measured twe...
