Bismarck, D. T.y Mar. 14,1877. We heard much during the campaign from the Democratic newspapers and stumps of the certainty that HayeiT ad ministration -would be a simple prolonga tion of Grant's and that, indebted as he would be to Chandler, Cameron, Logan, Boss Shepherd and others for his electian, he could not go back upon them, but must and would continue them in office and be goverened by their advice. How far these prophecies were true it is already competent to determine. Not one of these men, nor a representative of them, has fonnd a place in the cabinet, rod the inaugural message is a proclamation that their scepter is broken and their reign is ended for the coming four years at least. That the President will firmly, adhere to his purposes, as foreshadowed by the complflidon of his cabinet, our advices from Washington to-day bear witness,— Minneapolis Tribune. The Southern Democratic newspapers, cannot forbear hitting Northern Demo-, crats telling blows. The Augusta (Ga.)...

*.. Bismarck, T.j Mar. 21,1877/ PRESIDENT CHANT. In concluding an article^on the charac ter and services of Gen. Grant as Presi dent of the United States the Pioneer Press justly remarks: "On the whole, then, the judgment ot history will assign to President Grant a high rank among the Presidents who deserve the gratitude of their countrymen. He has been frank and honest with them he has had no concealments or tortuous policies. Whether right or wrong it was clear that his purposes were sincere and patriotic, and that he submitted himself without reserve to the judgment of the country. And his country will hold him in grateful esteem, not only for his great services as a soldier, but for his great services as the chief magistrate of the republic, while he lives, and will hold him in grateful re membrance when he shall have passed away." Trusting in Providence is all very well, but Mr. H. V. Redfield advises the Re publicans that it will not do for a con stant practice. He recomm...
