A St. Petersburg paper says that a dispatch from the Tabriz declares that the revolutionists have been over come by the government troops and that horsemen of Rachin Khan are now pillaging the town with murder. The Rev. Dr. Artemus Jeane Haines, pastor of the United Congregationalist church of New Haven, Conn., was drowned recently while fishing on Lond pond, near Harwich, Mass. His body was recovered. The dominion premier, Sir Wilfrid Laurier, says that Thanksgiving day this year will be held on Monday in stead of Thursday, in deference to the requests of commercial travelers and other organizations. M., to 1 night it marked the end of a day of intense suffering due to the terrific hailstorm that has raged with deadly effect for 12 hours and the beginning of a night of terror unequaled in the history of this part of the country.
