The occasion being a birth day party of their daughter Miss Sarah J. withstanding the inclemency of the weather a large crowd of young men and ladies gathered and at 9:30 Prof. Johnson's string band commenced to play. It waa very hard for some ol our young ladies to keep their feet still, but under the circumstances was compelled to. Parlor games were in? dulged in until a late hour. After a handsome repast Miss S. J. Lawson en? tertained the guest for a while with some of her choice piano selections.
