Methodist Church Bazaar [Newspaper Article] — The Biz — 8 December 1928

The annual bazaar in connection with the Fairfield Methodist Church was held on Thursday and Friday, November 20 and 30 in the S. S. Hall. Everything humanly possible was done by members of the ladies' Church Aid to ensure a successful event. That their labors were amply rewarded was evidenced by the gen erous patronage accorded by the members and adherents of the church and also many wellwisherg among the general public. At 3 p.m. on the 29th everything appeared at its best. The stalls were heavily laden with supplies suffici ently attractive to separate the most careful proprietors from their cash. The weather also was beneficial, in that its influence was responsible for frequent attacks upon the ice cream, cool drinks and afternoon tea, to say nothing of the calls upon the cold water reserves. Prompt to time, a brief devotional exercise, a pianoforte duet (the Misses Stimson) an elocutionary item (Mrs. Johnstone), a song ("The Gar den of Happiness," Miss O'Donnell) and greatings...
