WATER SUPPLY FOR GERRINGONG COUNCIL TO FURTHER INVESTI GATE REPORT BY GEOLOGIST , At the recent meeting of the Ger ringong Council a report was to hand from the' Mines Department Geological branch indicating that there was every possibility of the Gerringong Town and Gerroa areas obtaining -a local water supply from underground sources. Although Council is anticipat ing that the Shoalhaven Scheme will supply water to the whole,area it was suggested at the meeting that in view of the fact that the Shoal .liavqun Scheme would' take many years to comiplete, or even start, local schemes should be proceeded with and these could ultimately be lhiked' with ,a major scheme. The Council idecided to ask the Public Works ,Departmernt the pres ent position regarding the, provision of a local scheme and they are to be asked to either carry out or spon sor a detailed investigation along the lines recommended in the Mines Department report.
