TEMORA RACING CLUB. [Newspaper Article] — Temora Herald and Mining Journal — 1 August 1882

TEMOHA RACING CLUB. The citiiens meeting beJ'l on Sat. urdaj evening last, is un evidence that great ^satisfaction exists in the ?'V.uV)C miud as to tlie way in whii-h tho officers of the Temora Urn irijr Club dealt with 'he public funds ut their] disposal. Wo thoroughly agree nil li the opinion expressed at the meeting, that before a response is made to tbo appeal for funds to inaugurate a race meeting for this year tliere ought to lie a new club formed with totally new officers to conduct its affairs. It is not denied (hat tliere n re mm' good men on the Committee, but at the nim time there arc some bad ones. If tlie confidence of the public is to be pained bv tie Racing Club, the officers must have some higher notion of their duties than to think tliat these duties consist in voting to one another the surplus funds of the Club at tbe con ulusion of a race meeting. Such an unwarrantable step has justly provoked public indignation, and in the present state of feeling on the questio...
