Dunorlan Sports   A Record Gathering   The Catholic tea and sports meet-   ing was held on the Dunorlan sports ground on Wednesday afternoon last, and was considered to be the most successful gathering ever held   in Dunorlan. The attendance was large from the surrounding district and was further swelled by a large concourse of visitors from Launces- ton and the coast. It is estimated that fully 1500 were present. There was a record number of entries for the different athletic events, and if the Dunorlan Sports Committee con- tinue to make the same headway as they have in the past few years it will not be long before they rank about the leading club in the N. W. of Tasmania. The weather was all that could be desired, and a very pleasant day was spent. Starting with the Maiden Handi- cap Foot Chop, which was won by H. J. Markets and Crops. ¡o: There were heavy deliveries of potatoes yesterday, totalling 9,400 bags, which, with stccks in hand, will loiing the total quantity available at Devonport to the vicinity of 11,000 bags, Other forwardings were 288 bags turnips, 773 bags oats, and 5S8 hales stiaw. 'Die piice of the tuber varied from £xH for white sorts to £4 for best Bismarcks, and £5 to£f>5/ ior teds. Tiansactions were fairly free, ana it seemed that the trcuble in Sydney earlier in the week did not disorganise business to the extent feared.
