TIIE HERALD. From Itrrrl(fiirl1;;c County. Piuxcn of Walks, July 31, 187G. Elitor Herald. Nothing very now or strange has taken place in this part of the county, since my hist correspondence. We havo scarcely hail rain sufficient to lay the dust since, the 2d July. Corn and tolmcco, arc beginning to suffer very much. In some localities crops arc parching up. Tobacco that was planted early looks well and is most all topped, hut that which was planted late is not much larger than it was when planted. Wheat is being threshed quite rap idly. The yield is almost, or quite ns large as the farmers expected. Oats will fall short of a half crop. The Teachers Institute came offou the 20th and 21st. This was the first meeting of this kind held in the county. It being something "new," thcro was not a large turn-out of teach ers. However, it was organized I think upon a firm basis. After the teachers had been informed as to the meaning of the meeting, they feenied to like it, and most all the me...
