Our readers trill remember a dispatch which was printed recently in the Cm- zex from Butler, Ala-, setting forth that evidence had been obtained of a negro plot, formed four years ago, and em¬ bracing 400 conspirators, the object of which was to murder all the white resi¬ dents of Choctaw County on the 17th of this month. The story was absurd on the face of it, and yet a negro named Jack Turner and six others were ar¬ rested, charged with being -ringleaders and on the 10th of August a thousand men of the county assembled and determined that Turner should die.
